Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 15, 2026
This policy describes how Tastessence ("we," "us," or "our"), the website at https://tastessence.com (the "Site"), handles information about its visitors. The honest summary: you can read every article here without an account, we don't sell anyone's data, and the information we do handle falls into the few narrow categories below.
What reaches us, and how
What you send
If you email us, we get your address and your message, and we use them to read and answer you. That's the only information you ever actively hand over — there are no accounts, sign-ups, or newsletters. Please leave out anything sensitive you'd rather not share.
What arrives on its own
Serving a web page generates technical records: our hosting provider logs your IP address, browser and user agent, the referring page, and the request's date and time. Those logs exist to serve pages, keep the Site secure, and diagnose problems — not to build a profile of you.
Usage measurement
The Site measures readership with Google Analytics 4, loaded through Cloudflare Zaraz (which runs third-party scripts server-side so your browser carries less of them). Analytics may set cookies and record your IP address, device and browser details, pages viewed, and general location. We look at it only in aggregate — which articles earn their keep, where readers come from — never to identify an individual reader.
What we do with it
- Answer the messages you send.
- Run, maintain, and secure the Site.
- Catch and stop spam, abuse, fraud, and technical problems.
- Meet legal obligations where they apply.
Advertising
Ads on the Site are delivered by Insticator, an advertising platform whose exchange includes Google and other partners, and some articles carry a video player from Connatix. These partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, limit how often you see the same one, and prevent fraud; where the law requires it, ads are personalized only with your consent. Advertisers never see who you are from us, and they have no say in what our articles conclude.
To opt out of personalized advertising, visit Google's Ads Settings and www.aboutads.info/choices; Google explains its practices at how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Cookies
The Site sets few cookies of its own: the strictly necessary ones cover security and spam prevention, and the rest come from analytics and the advertising partners described above. Your browser can block or delete any of them, and the recipes will read exactly the same if you do.
Who processes data on our behalf
- Cloudflare — hosting, network security, and the Zaraz script loader (privacy policy).
- Google — aggregate analytics, and ad serving within Insticator's exchange (privacy policy).
- Insticator and Connatix — ad and video-ad delivery (Insticator's policy, Connatix's policy).
Each provider may use visitor information only to deliver its service to us, not for purposes of its own beyond what its linked policy describes.
How long things are kept
Email sticks around while we handle it and for a reasonable stretch afterward for our records, then gets deleted. Server logs are kept for a limited time for security and operations, then roll off.
Your rights
Laws like the GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA may give you rights over personal information we hold — access, correction, deletion, restriction, and objection to certain processing among them. Email us using the address at the bottom of this page and we'll respond as the applicable law requires.
Children
The Site isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has sent us some, tell us and it will be deleted.
Where data is processed
Tastessence operates from the United States, and our providers may process data there and in other countries whose data-protection laws differ from your own. Using the Site means your information may travel accordingly.
When this policy changes
Updates land on this page with a fresh "Last updated" date at the top. Anything material will be visible here, so check back now and then.
