Cabbage is Good
Cabbage, a prominent part of the Polish cuisine (also one of the main ingredients of golumpki soup), is very nutritious and a low-calorie food. In fact, a cup of cabbage holds around 15 calories only. Moreover, it is low in cholesterol, saturated fat, and high in dietary fiber, vitamin A, thiamin, vitamin B6, calcium, iron, and magnesium.
Call them Golumpki, golabki, gwumki, halupki, or simply pigs in a blanket (anglicized form), one thing is for sure; they are absolutely delicious! Cabbage leaves are wrapped around spicy, flavored meat with onions and rice. The preparation is steamed and served with tomato sauce. That was a quick recipe for stuffed cabbage rolls, also called golumpki. Here we tell you how to make the Polish Golumpki soup.
It’s a delicious and comforting soup, and relatively easy to make. We give you its recipe, some nutritional information, followed by a healthier version of this soup—the Golumpki chicken soup.
