  • You can dilute the drink by adding more ice, or maybe more fruit juices.
  • And most importantly, drink in moderation! We’re sure you wouldn’t want to pass out at your friend’s place and miss all the fun!

Hunch Punch is a yummy mixture of alcohol, fruit juices, and a Kool-Aid or Everclear grain alcohol. It is a popular drink among college students, and makes an ultimate drink for parties. It is also popularly known as Jungle Juice, Purple Jesus, Blog, Spodie, Purple Death, and many more.

Call it whatever you want to! A fruit-based alcoholic drink is hard to resist. If you don’t want to get dead drunk, then Hunch Punch is definitely the best option for you. It usually contains two main ingredient―grain-based alcohol and fruit juice. There are a number of ways and variations that you can put into making Hunch Punch. Creating your own unique versions are always invited.

Step-by-Step Instructions to Make Hunch Punch

Basic Hunch Punch

Basic Hunch Punch
Everclear Alcohol

You will need…

  • Large cooler
  • Everclear grain alcohol, 750 ml
  • Fruit punch, 1 gallon
  • Fruit juice, 2 large cans
  • Vodka, 1 quarter
  • Ginger ale, 1 pint
  • Lemon-lime soda, 4 oz.
  • Lemon slices or cherries, to garnish
  • Ice, as required

Instructions

  • Pour a bottle of Everclear grain alcohol into a large cooler.
  • Add 1 gallon of fruit punch into the cooler. You can use readymade fruit punch or a mix of your favorite fruit juices.
  • Stir the punch thoroughly with a long spoon.
  • Add ice as required, and your basic Hunch Punch is ready!
  • Serve chilled.

For a more alcoholic version, follow the steps below.

Instructions

  • Pour fruit punch into a large cooler. Increase the quantity depending upon the number of people.
  • Mix in two types of fruit juices of your choice.
  • Add lemon-lime soda and ginger ale and stir well.
  • Empty a bottle of Everclear and vodka into the mix. For every 3 gallons of hunch punch, you will require 750 ml bottle of Everclear.
  • Stir the punch well with a long spoon.
  • Garnish with slices of lemon and cherries, and serve with ice.

Tip: If you don’t want your punch to get diluted because of ice, then refrigerate the ingredients properly before preparing.

Hunch Punch with Kool-Aid

You will need…

  • Vodka or Rum, 1 quarter
  • Everclear grain alcohol, 1 quarter
  • Hawaiian Punch, 2 quarters
  • Sprite, 1 quarter
  • Ginger ale, 1 quarter
  • Kool-Aid, 0.5 quarter
  • Mixed fruit juices, 1.5 quarter
  • Seasonal fruits, your choice
  • Ice, as required

Instructions

  • Cut the seasonal fruits (Cherries, apples, pineapple, strawberries, kiwi, lime) and put aside.
  • Pour the Hawaiian punch, Sprite, Ginger Ale, and Kool-Aid into a large bowl, and mix well.
  • Add the fruits juices and stir thoroughly.
  • Add Everclear and vodka or rum.
  • Add the seasonal fruits and stir properly.
  • Serve over ice.

Tip: Instead of other fruit juices you can also use 4 oz. of lime and lemon juice each.

Jungle Juice

Jungle Juice is the most popular punch in parties. It is a good option if you are planning on throwing a party for a large group. You can add as many fruits as you like, or keep it simple if you want to.

You will need…

  • Everclear grain alcohol, 750 ml
  • Vodka, 750 ml
  • Hawaiian Punch, 2 quarters
  • Peach Schnapps, 750 ml
  • Watermelon Schnapps, 750 ml
  • Cranberry juice, 2 bottles
  • Orange juice, 2 bottles
  • Lemonade, 1 bottle
  • Oranges, 2
  • Pineapple, 1 Strawberries, 1 lb
  • Kiwi, 4
  • Watermelon, 1 small
  • Lemon-lime soda, 2 bottles
  • Ice, as required

Instructions

  • Pour vodka, Everclear grain alcohol, peach and watermelon schnapps into a large cooler.
  • Add two 32 oz. bottles of cranberry juice and orange juice each, and one 32 oz. bottle of lemonade and stir thoroughly with a long spoon.
  • Cut strawberries into half and add them to the mix.
  • Peel and cut oranges, pineapple, watermelon, kiwi, and add them to the mixture.
  • Keep it overnight so that the fruits soak up the solution.
  • Your Jungle Juice is ready!
  • Serve it over ice and with lemon-lime soda.

Tip: You can add fruits of your choice to prepare a unique punch, and also different wines if you are fond of wines.

Hunch Punch is definitely worth the time and effort you would invest in preparing it. This is not a drink that would disappoint anyone. Experimentation is always welcome. After all, that’s how you learn and grow, isn’t it? Try the different types and combinations of juices, soda, or alcohol for varied versions. You never know, you might just invent another amazing drink!
