Now that Valentine's Day is over, you've probably exhausted the list of great gifts you can give to your special someone. If your honey is a wine lover, why not sign them up for a wine of the month club or a membership to a winery? It's the gift that keeps on giving, because you get a new bottle of wine every month, and it's something that the two of you can share as time goes on. It truly is the perfect gift.
Wine of the Month Clubs
Wine of the month clubs are great because the wine is delivered right to your front door. The only drawback to this type of membership is that you have to sign for the package every time and prove that you're over 21 in order to receive the wine. This can cause some problems with having to get to the shipment center to pick up the package if you're not home at the time of delivery. Other than that, however, wine of the month clubs are great. You can sign your loved one up for a white wine club, a red wine club, or a mix. The wines can be either bottles of domestic or international wines, and that can give your sweetie a taste of worlds afar or a taste of what's right down the road. Be sure to get what he or she likes, though. Tasting wine is an art, and if the apple of your eye is an aficionado, you want to be sure to buy what they enjoy.
Winery Memberships
Winery memberships are similar to wine of the month clubs in that you get a bottle of wine every month with your membership. You can also have this wine delivered to your door, or you can pick it up from the winery itself. When at the winery, you can usually get a tasting of the wines they have to offer. Some wineries also have restaurants that serve delicious food you can enjoy paired with your favorite glass of vino. A trip to the winery every month can be a great way to spend time with your sweetheart, and can provide an excuse to get out of the house even on those cold, wintery days.
Where to Find Them
Most wineries offer wine club memberships. Just visit a local one and ask the staff. They will be happy to help you pick which membership is right for you. If you're looking for a variety of wines from different wineries and want to try a wine of the month club, you can find these easily by doing a quick Internet search. This will show you numerous options, and you can select the one that is right for you.
If you are shipping your wine, it is going to cost more than picking it up yourself because shipping and handling fees are high. However, most monthly memberships sit in the $20 - $40 range for one bottle of wine per month. This is about the price you would pay for a good bottle of wine in the store or winery, so it isn't too expensive. Of course, there are those that are more expensive, but you are most likely getting a better quality of wine. You can rest easy, though. If you choose a more inexpensive wine club, the wines will still be delicious. It is their job to pick out wines they think you will like, so they won't be sending you something you can get down the street for under $5.
