Chicken Thighs
Chicken legs are an extremely versatile cut of meat that can be prepared in many different ways. From using them in stews and soups, to roasting or grilling them for a satisfying meal. As dark meat, chicken legs offer more robust flavors than their lighter counterparts and tend to be more cost-effective options than other forms.
Chicken legs can be found fresh at most supermarket meat counters or prepackaged in refrigerated cases. When selecting fresh chicken legs, select those which appear plump and pink; avoid those which appear slimy or possess an off-odor.
When baking chicken leg quarters or thigh-drumstick pieces, use an instant-read thermometer to ensure they’re fully cooked. All poultry should reach an internal temperature of 175 degrees; however, for best texture and flavor use an oven temperature between 180-185.
Frozen Pizza
Pizza can be an extremely polarizing dish. For some people, its appeal lies in reminding them of simpler times like high school or college when making homemade pizza was one of the easiest meals they made; while for others, its lack of authenticity makes for an experience best kept at a distance.
No matter the recipe, frozen pizzas can still be elevated with some effort. Parbaking dough on a baking stone to improve crust texture or adding some extra cheese for homemade flavor are both options that can elevate it further. Beyond cheese toppings alone, try Hawaiian-style pineapple and ham or western-style chorizo and jalapeno slices – adding spicy Sriracha or chili crisp can increase heat further if you wish! For an innovative new take, cauliflower crust offers both gluten-free ingredients with lower caloric intake than regular pizza while being gluten-free while offering reduced caloric intake while being gluten-free as well. When toppings such as chicken, bacon or sausage add protein while flavor can even more!
Frozen Burritos
Burritos make an easy meal solution when time is tight – this meal includes ground beef, beans and cheese all wrapped up into one delicious tortilla! They’re the ideal meal plan for busy families on-the-go!
Add protein-packed grilled chicken, strips of fajita chicken, shredded pork or ground beef for extra protein in your frozen burritos by including chopped vegetables like diced tomatoes or green onions for extra variety.
To reheat frozen burritos, tightly pack them in foil and microwave on the defrost setting for seven minutes – this method will heat and crisp up the tortilla at the same time! You could also bake frozen burritos at 375 degrees for 30 minutes to warm through; making these ideal cold weather dinner options! Pair your frozen burritos with sides such as refried beans, Mexican rice, salsa or guacamole to complete your meal!
