How to Make Irresistibly Rich Pork Chops in the Oven

On days when you want to put in minimal effort in cooking but crave a dish that is big on flavors, making pork chops may be the scrumptious solution you are looking for. Cooking pork chops in the oven is a healthy yet delicious way of preparing this type of red meat.

Throw together a few simple ingredients and you will have prepared yourself a nutritious and appetizing meal. What’s more, you don’t need to be a Masterchef to whip up these mouth-watering delicacies.

What You Need

▪ Pork chops, 5 (boneless)
▪ Garlic cloves, 2 (minced)
▪ Egg, 1
▪ Whole wheat bread crumbs, 1¼ cup
▪ All-purpose flour, ¾ cup
▪ Dijon mustard, 3 tablespoons
▪ Parsley, 1 tablespoon (minced)
▪ Tarragon, 1 tablespoon (minced)
▪ Salt, 1 teaspoon
▪ Ground black pepper, ¾ teaspoon

How to Make it

▪ Preheat the oven to 350° F.
▪ In a shallow bowl, mix together breadcrumbs, garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, and tarragon.
▪ Take another dish and beat the egg while adding the mustard to it slowly. Beat well.
▪ Put the flour in another shallow bowl.
▪ Take one pork chop, coat it well with the flour, dip it in the egg-mustard mixture, and then coat it ▪ with the breadcrumb mix and place it on a baking sheet. Repeat this with every pork chop.
▪ Place the baking sheet in the oven and cook the chops, turning them once, for about 30 minutes till they are cooked through. Use an instant-read thermometer to check the temperature of the chops. ▪ At 170° F the chops should be cooked well.

▪ Pork chops, 6 (bone-in)
▪ Garlic cloves, 6 (partially crushed)
▪ Parsnips, 3 (halved lengthwise)
▪ Pears, 3 (cored and cut into four parts)
▪ Potatoes, 3 (cut into ¼ inch slices)
▪ Lemon zest pieces, 3 (thinly peeled, about two inches long)
▪ Lemon juice, ⅓ cup
▪ Rosemary, 2 tablespoons (chopped)
▪ Olive oil, 2 tablespoons
▪ Brown sugar, 2 tablespoons
▪ Ground black pepper, 1 teaspoon
▪ Salt, ½ teaspoon

How to Make it

▪ Take a shallow dish and mix the lemon juice, lemon zest, rosemary, garlic cloves, olive oil, brown sugar, and pepper together.
▪ Place the chops in this marinade and coat them properly. Cover the dish and refrigerate overnight.
▪ Take out the chops from the refrigerator the next day and place them in a roasting pan.
▪ Add the parsnips, pears, potatoes, and salt to the chops.
▪ Heat the oven to 400° F.
▪ Place the roasting pan in the oven for about 75 minutes till the chops are brown and tender.

▪ Place the baking tray in the oven for 30 minutes or till the chops are cooked completely.
▪ Remove the chops from the oven and rest them for 5 minutes before serving.

▪ Celery seed, ¼ teaspoon
▪ Nutmeg powder, a pinch

How to Make it

▪ Place the pork chops in a nonstick pan coated with oil/cooking spray.
▪ Sprinkle the pork chops with ¼ teaspoon salt and some pepper.
▪ Cook the chops on medium heat for 6-8 minutes. Ensure that the chops are browned on both sides.
▪ Next, transfer the chops to a baking tray and allow them to rest for a while.
▪ In a saucepan, mix water, vinegar, ketchup, celery seed, nutmeg powder, bay leaf, and salt and bring the mixture to a boil.
▪ Pour the sauce over chops so that they are coated completely.
▪ Preheat the oven to 350° F.
▪ Place the baking tray with the pork chops in the oven. Allow them to cook for 20 minutes.
