Kids Recipes to Keep them Entertained and Fed

With the corona-virus impacting most places our children are out of school. And while they are at home it’s your job to keep them fed and entertained.
Children can have a fun time cooking and being the chef. Here are some easy recipes for kids. And now is the perfect time to try them out.

There are times when cooking with kids can be stressful. But here are several dishes that can be made by your children. It’s difficult to when the children are home . These kids recipes will help to keep them busy. Have them put the chef’s hat on and get ready to supervise.

Veggie Pizza Bread

Ingredients:

Frozen Mixed Vegetables (3 cups)
Olive Oil (1 tbsp.)
Pizza Sauce (3/4 cup)
Tomato, 1 cup (finely chopped)
Onion, ½ cup (finely diced)
Garlic Powder (1 tsp.)
Parmesan Cheese (3 tbsp. grated)
Italian Bread (5 slices thick cut 1″ by and 5″ long)

Prep and Cook Time:

Oven should be preheated to 350º F. Use a cookie sheet to heat the frozen vegetables in the oven. Then pat them dry.
Spread a thin quantity of oil on each slice of bread. Then gently spoon around 1 tbsp. of sauce over it.
In a medium-sized bowl combine the warmed vegetables, onions and tomatoes. Add in the rest of the pizza sauce and stir.
Spread the vegetable mixture evenly over the bread. Then sprinkle oregano and garlic powder over the vegetable mixture. Top it off by spreading a generous amount of Parmesan cheese on top.
Bake it for around 7 to 10 minutes. Serve it hot.

Peanut Butter Honey Spread

Peanut butter sandwiches are easy to prepare. You can serve them with soup or fruit. Any time of the day, they are a delicious snack, on crackers.
This homemade peanut butter is fun to make and fun to eat.

Ingredients:

Peanuts (1½ cup unsalted and roasted)
Peanut Oil (2 tbsp.)
Raw Honey (1/2 cup)

Prep and Cook Time:

Mix the oil in with the peanut butter and honey in a medium-sized bowl. Then pour the mixture into the food processor. Process this combination of honey, peanuts and oil till it turns smooth.
Store it in a sealed container. Keep the spread in the refrigerator. This peanut butter spread should stay fresh for at least 2 weeks. You can use it as a spread on bread or crackers. Or you can add it for taste when preparing delicious desserts. You can even use it as an ingredient to make a cake.
Be sure and scrub the food processor with hot water.

Peach Smoothie

Ingredients:

Milk (1 cup)
Raw Sugar (1 tsp.)
Peach (2 cups fresh and sliced)
Whipped cream optional (1 cup or equivalent from can)

Prep and Cook Time:

Pour the milk into two ice-cube trays. Freeze till it turns solid (at least 2 hours). When frozen put the milk cubes into a blender. Add the peaches and sugar to the blender. Blend at high speed. Stop blending when all ingredients are well mixed. The mixture should be smooth.

Pour this Peach concoction into serving dishes or glasses. If you Top it off with whipped cream.

It can be a great addition to any breakfast. You can serve this dish as a desert. Or you can drink the smoothie as a healthy snack.
