How to Make Instant Iced Coffee at Home

Iced coffee is the perfect drink for those days when it’s just too hot to sip on a cup of brewed coffee. But buying an iced coffee at your local coffee shop every day can get pricey — which is why we’ve put together this guide on making your own instant iced coffee at home.

In this post, we’ll teach you how to make instant iced coffee at home to save money but still get your much-needed caffeine fix. We’ll also share a few of the most popular iced coffee brands to look out for when you head to the supermarket.

Steps for making iced coffee at home

Overall, making instant iced coffee is similar to making a standard cup of instant coffee. Start by measuring out your instant coffee granules into a large glass or a pitcher (depending on how much coffee you’d like to make). Adjust how much coffee you add based on how strong you’d like your instant iced coffee.

Next, heat up your water using a kettle. If you don’t have one, you can warm your water on the stovetop or in the microwave. Carefully pour the water into your drink container, stirring to combine the granules and liquid.

From there, add in extra cold water and stir. If you like creamer or sweetener in your coffee, now is the time to add it as well. Finally, fill a separate glass with ice and pour the coffee mixture over it. Taste the iced coffee and add more sweetener or milk to suit your preference.

Alternatively, you can also use special instant iced coffee products instead of traditional instant coffee. The exact directions will depend on the brand you purchase, but most of these products allow you to insert a pouch of ground coffee and blend it with cold water and ice to drink immediately or after letting it combine in the refrigerator.

Instant iced coffee brands

If you’d like to make your iced coffee with traditional instant coffee, popular brands to look out for include Folgers and Nescafe. Your local grocery store might also have their own brand of instant coffee if you’re looking to save a little bit of cash.

On the other hand, if you would prefer to purchase specific iced coffee products, coffee chains like Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts offer a range of products for this purpose. Many of these coffee varieties come in different flavors, so you might have to try some different brands and styles to find your favorite blend.

Making instant iced coffee at home is a smart way to save money and reduce your reliance on disposable coffee cups. You can also make iced coffee in larger quantities and keep it in the refrigerator, so you can have it ready to drink throughout the week. You might even find that your own coffee creations taste better than what you’re used to buying at your local coffee shop.
