Tips

▣ Bouillon cubes can be used as an alternative to broth.

▣ For those who do not have a liking for beef can replace the beef broth with chicken broth. In that case, increase the quantity of soy sauce added by 1 tablespoon.

▣ For a proper consistency, mix all the ingredients together before cooking the mixture.

▣ Be accurate with the quantity of cornstarch to avoid clumps in the sauce. Another way to avoid lumps in the sauce is by mixing cornstarch with water before mixing it with remaining ingredients.

▣ A tablespoon of fortified wine (sherry) adds flavor and a sweet taste to this sauce.

▣ Brown sugar can be replaced by white sugar. Sugar can be completely eliminated from the recipe too if no sweetness is desired.

▣ For low sodium content in the sauce, use low-sodium soy sauce in place of regular soy sauce.

▣ For a spicy sauce, add red chilly sauce or paste.
