Are You Still Wondering What is Red Wine?

Just like any other wine, red wine too is made from grapes. The common name for these grapes is European grapes but they are called ‘Vitis Vinifera‘. The making of red wine is different from that of white wine and hence the difference in color. The color of the grapes from which we make red wine is either red, sometimes deep purple and sometimes even blue. While making red wine, the grapes are crushed as a whole. Which means, that the skin of these grapes is fermented along with the grape itself. However, when white wine is made, the grapes are skinned. The Red Wine comprises a huge group of wines, some of which are the Merlots and the Zinfandels.

Cheap Dry Red Wine: Dry red wine is a wine with no more than 4 grams of sugar per liter left in the wine. This is achieved during the fermentation process itself when the wine is fermented to an extent where there is no sugar left apart from some residual sugar. It is said that the drier a wine, the richer it tastes. Dry wines taste bitter and thicker. Cheap sweet red wine is exactly the opposite with more sugar content in it.
