‘Happy Hour’ at the bar is something most drinkers await eagerly for. That is because they get to drink well drinks at a very affordable price (Now you know why it is called Happy Hour!). Well drinks offer greater variety when you do not want to have beer or wine and instead wish to sip on a fancy cocktail that fits your budget.
What is a Well Drink?
A well drink is the cheapest mixed alcoholic drink available at a bar. The liquors that are used for making well drinks are vodka, gin, rum, tequila, bourbon, scotch, brandy, and whiskey. Some bars may include liquors like triple-sec, pear schnapps etc.
Did You Know?
The name ‘well drinks’ is coined from the name of the workplace of a bartender, which is also known as the ‘well’. It is the space where he keeps the ice, juices, liquors, and liqueurs.
If you want to avoid getting a well drink, make sure to order a drink with a particular brand name in mind. For example, instead of ordering vodka and tonic, you should ask the bartender for Belvedere and Tonic. Or else you will end up with a well drink.
