Recipes for an Absolutely Melt-in-the-mouth Vanilla Frosting

Vanilla frosting can be easily prepared with ingredients commonly available in the kitchen counter. They are delicious and can be used top cakes, biscuits, cookies, etc.
Vanilla frosting is very versatile and goes well with all types of baked goodies, be it a regular cake, cupcake, or a cookie. It simple and easy to make that you can prepare it within no time. They are enjoyed by kids and adults alike. Here are some of the vanilla frosting recipes which you can make and use to top your favorite baked foods.

Vanilla Frosting from Scratch

  • 1 teaspoon, of vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons, of low-fat milk
  • 1 stick of unsalted butter
  • 3 cups, powdered white sugar

Use a hand-held mixer and a bowl. Before you start mixing the ingredients, soften the butter. Then, add the sugar and vanilla extract to the butter. Whip this mixture, until the sugar blends well with butter and vanilla.
Transfer this butter mixture into the mixer and then add the low-fat milk. Process the frosting until it is thick and creamy. Chill frosting in the freezer for at least half an hour and your delectable vanilla frosting is ready.

Easy Vanilla Frosting

  • ⅛ cup, vanilla soy milk
  • ¾ cup, margarine
  • ¾ cup, powdered sugar

In a mixing bowl, combine the vanilla soy milk, margarine, and powdered sugar. After whipping for a few minutes, transfer it into an electric mixer and blend until the frosting turns smooth and creamy. You can add more margarine and sugar to make the desired consistency. Allow it to thicken in the refrigerator, before you use for topping cakes.

Vanilla Frosting for Cupcakes

  • 2 teaspoons, vanilla extract
  • 6 tablespoons, all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups, milk
  • 2 cups, sugar
  • 2 cups, unsalted butter (softened)

Take a medium-sized saucepan, add all-purpose flour, milk, and whisk for 5 minutes to make a smooth paste. Put it over a medium heat and cook till the mixture starts bubbling. Stir constantly and allow it to thicken for 10-15 minutes. Keep this aside and allow it to cool down. In a large bowl, add the butter, sugar, and vanilla.
Blend the mixture in a food processor. Process the mixture till it is smooth and fluffy. Check whether the flour and milk mixture is cooled. If yes, add it into the mixer and blend for another 5 minutes at a high speed till the mixture turns into thick frosting. Cover the lid and refrigerate for 15 minutes. It is best to use immediately after chilling.

Vanilla Frosting for Cookies

  • ½ teaspoon, vanilla extract
  • 1½ tablespoons, butter (soften)
  • 2 cups, confectioners' sugar
  • 3-4 tablespoons, milk
  • ¼ teaspoon, salt

Whip the softened butter in a mixing bowl. Stir in the vanilla extract, sugar, milk, and salt. Whisk for about 10 minutes until all the ingredients blend well in the mixture. If needed, add more milk and sugar. Once, you are satisfied with the thickness of the frosting, spread it over hot cookies and pound cakes.
