Margarita is made of tequila combined with triple sec (an orange-flavored liqueur) and lime or lemon juice. It is served blended with ice (the frozen margarita) or on the rocks, in special margarita glasses with salt on the rim. You can add variations to the traditional recipe by adding a simple syrup (an additional sweetener) or bottled lime juice. Usually when these syrups and fruit juices are added to the recipe, the quantity of triple sec or orange-flavored liqueur is diluted. Some other substitutes for triple sec are Patrón Citrónge, Cointreau (which is an expensive option), or blue curaçao for a blue margarita. Some delicious versions comprise strawberry, mango, raspberry, peach and chocolate.
Strawberries are known for their flush red mouth-watering flesh, which is not only pleasing to the taste buds but also has many health benefits, as they are rich in phenols and antioxidants. Strawberry and tequila together form a unique combination that gives a sweet and tart flavor to the cocktail.
