Steak Dinner for Two


  • Steaks, 2 (boneless, 1 - 1½ inch thick)
  • Vegetable oil, 1 tablespoon
  • Salt and fresh ground pepper, to taste

Directions for Preparation

1. Prepare the steaks by rubbing them with salt and pepper on all sides. Keep aside for 15 minutes for ingredients to penetrate deep into the meat.

2. Heat a thick cast iron skillet over medium heat. When it's hot enough, pour vegetable oil. Then add the steaks in the pan and cover it with a splatter screen.

3. Cook the steaks for 5 minutes per side and turn.
4. If you prefer rare meat, cook the meat for only 3 minutes per side. Likewise, consider cooking 4 minutes per side for medium rare and 5 minutes per side for medium steaks.

Easy Steak Dinner


  • Beef top sirloin steaks, 4½ pounds
  • Steak spice seasoning mix, 1 ounce
  • Vegetable oil, ½ cup

Directions for Preparation

1. In a large shallow dish, put oil and seasoning spice. Stir well and place the steaks in the mix. Rub the oil and spice mixture over the steaks (from all sides).

2. If time permits, cover the dish and marinade in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
3. Remove marinated steaks from the refrigerator and allow to stand at room temperature for 10 minutes. Meanwhile start and preheat outdoor grill to a high heat.

4. Prepare the grill grate by applying oil lightly. Then, grill the steaks until you get the desired result (rare or medium rare).

Steak Dinner with Red Potatoes


  • Flank steak, 1 - 1½ pounds
  • Red potatoes, 1½ pounds (pierced several times)
  • Arugula, 15 ounces
  • Sour cream, ½ cup
  • Lemon juice, 3½ teaspoons (fresh)
  • Chives, 2 tablespoons (finely chopped, fresh)
  • Olive oil, ½ tablespoon
  • Kosher salt, 1 teaspoon

Directions for Preparation

1. Preheat the oven to a high heat.

2. First work on the potatoes, after piercing them several times, arrange them in a microwave safe plate and bake at a high temperature setting for about 12 minutes.

3. In the meantime, season the steaks with ¼ teaspoon pepper and ½ teaspoon salt. Rub pepper and salt with fingers to evenly coat the meat.
4. Place a thick oven-proof pan over medium heat and add oil. When it is hot, cook steaks for exactly 1 minute per side.

5. Now, bake these partly cooked meat pieces in the oven for about 6 - 8 minutes or until they are done.

6. Remove the baked steaks from the oven, and place them on a chopping board and prepare slices.
7. In a mixing bowl, combine together the sour cream, fresh lemon juice, chives, 2 tablespoons of water and salt.

6. Place the sliced steaks in platters. Also, divide the potatoes and arugula, and add each portion in the individual plates.

8. Drizzle the baked meat with sour cream mixture, garnish with salt, pepper and chives and serve.
