Italian cuisine is enjoyed world wide and spaghetti is one of the most popular pastas. It is long, thin, and cylindrical in shape, and is very popular in Italy. Cooking it is easy and you can also prepare this pasta according to your taste by developing your own recipe. Here are a few simple pie recipes you can try at home.
Spaghetti Pie with Cheddar Cheese
  • Spaghetti, 1 lb.
  • Lean ground beef, 1 lb.
  • Green pepper, (diced) ½ cup
  • Sour cream, 1 cup
  • Ground black pepper, 1 tsp.
  • Pasta sauce, ½ cup
  • Cheddar Cheese, (grated) 1 cup
  • Spring Onion, (chopped) ¾ cup
  • Cream cheese, ¼ cup
  • Garlic powder, ½ tsp.
  • Salt, as per taste
Preheat the oven to 345° F. Cook spaghetti in salted boiling water for about 10 minutes or till it is firm. In a shallow frying pan cook the ground beef over medium heat. Add pasta sauce, green pepper, garlic powder, pepper, and salt, and stir it evenly. After it boils, reduce the flame and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes. Take a small bowl and mix the chopped spring onion, cream cheese and sour cream. Coat a baking dish with butter and add the cooked spaghetti, meat and cream cheese mixture. Cover the dish and bake it in an oven for about 30 minutes. Remove the cover and bake it again till the cheese melts. Remove it from the oven and transfer the contents to a serving tray, and garnish it with finely chopped coriander. Serve it hot.
Spaghetti Pie with Parmesan and Mozzarella Cheese
  • Spaghetti, 0.40 lb.
  • Parmesan cheese, (shredded) ½ cup
  • Ground beef, ½ lb.
  • Corn stock, ½ cup
  • Small onion, (evenly chopped) 1
  • Mushrooms, (sliced) ¼ cup
  • Homemade spaghetti sauce, ¾ cup
  • Mozzarella cheese, (grated) 1 cup
  • Green pepper, (diced in rings) 1
  • Eggs, 2
Bring water to boil and cook the spaghetti for about 10 minutes. Once boiled, remove the dish and make sure that the water is drained. Rinse it in cool water and set it aside. Beat two eggs and mix it with the spaghetti and shredded Parmesan cheese. In a large frying pan, cook the beef with onion and mushrooms till they turn brown. Place the mixture in a greased baking dish and add the diced green pepper and mozzarella cheese. Cook in preheated oven of 350° F for about 30 minutes.
Baked Spaghetti Pie
  • Hamburger, 1 lb.
  • Spaghetti, 1 packet
  • Black olives, (chopped) ½ cup
  • Medium-sized onion, (diced) 1
  • Tomato puree, ½ cup
  • Cherry tomatoes, ½ cup
  • Red pepper, ¼ tsp.
  • Oregano, ¼ tsp.
  • Garlic salt, ½ tsp.
  • Pepper, ¼ tsp.
  • Green pepper, (chopped in rings) 1
  • Cheddar cheese soup, ½ cup
  • Velveeta cheese, (shredded) ¾ cup
  • Salt to taste
Cook meat, onion and green pepper till they become light brown in color. Reduce heat and add Cheddar cheese soup, tomato puree and cherry tomatoes. Stir for 5 minutes. Add red pepper, garlic salt, oregano, pepper, and salt to taste and let it simmer for 30 minutes. In a separate pan boil water and cook the spaghetti. Drain and rinse it with cold water and set it aside. Line a baking dish with butter and add the cooked ingredients. Add the shredded Velveeta cheese over it and top it with black olives. Bake it in a preheated oven at 350° F for about 45 minutes.
Spaghetti Pie with Cottage Cheese
  • Spaghetti, 1 packet
  • Medium-sized onion, (chopped) 1
  • Small green pepper, (cut in rings) 1
  • Cottage cheese, ½ can
  • Mozzarella Cheese, (shredded) ¼ cup
  • Powdered sugar, ½ tsp.
  • Garlic salt, ½ tsp.
  • Parmesan cheese, ½ cup
  • Ground tomato, ½ cup
  • Canned tomato, 5 oz.
  • Pepperoni pieces, 5 - 10
  • Butter, 2½ tbsp.
  • Eggs, (whisked) 2
  • Minced meat, ½ lb.
  • Oregano, ½ tsp.
  • Salt to taste
Preheat the oven at 350° F. Boil spaghetti in salted water and drain. Melt butter and Parmesan cheese, and stir it with spaghetti. Beat the eggs and mix it with the cheese mixture. Bake this mixture in the oven for about 15 minutes. On a medium flame cook the meat, onion and green pepper until the meat and onion turn golden brown. Add seasonings, tomato paste and the canned tomatoes. Cook till the ingredients are mixed thoroughly. Transfer the contents into a baking dish, add the cooked spaghetti and cottage cheese. Cover it and bake it for 5 minutes until the cheese becomes bubbly. Take out the baking dish from the oven and remove the lid. Garnish it with pepperoni and shredded Mozzarella cheese and bake for about 15 minutes or until cheese melts. If you want a tangy flavor, Gorgonzola cheese can be added.
Italian Spaghetti Pie
  • Spaghetti, 5 oz.
  • Eggs, (beaten) 2
  • Garlic salt, ½ tsp.
  • Spaghetti sauce, 1 lb.
  • Parmesan cheese, (shredded) ½ cup
  • Beef, (minced) ½ lb.
  • Celery, (finely chopped) ½ cup
  • Mushrooms, (sliced) ½ cup
  • Salt to taste
Cook the spaghetti. Rinse it with hot water and keep aside. Take a medium-sized skillet to cook the meat and celery till they turn brown. Add mushrooms and spaghetti sauce and stir continuously. Reduce the flame to a low and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. Bake the mixture for about 15 minutes in an oven that is preheated at 350° F. Mix the spaghetti with Parmesan cheese, eggs, and garlic salt. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread the meat mixture evenly on top. Bake it till the top turns brown and a crust it formed. Let the mixture rest for about 10 minutes. Garnish it with the remaining Parmesan cheese and celery. Serve it hot.
