Sour Cream Pound Cake Recipes

Sour cream pound cake is a yummy and full-bodied cake, that one cannot resist the never-ending temptation about it. It can be eaten anytime of the day especially after a satisfying meal. Here are some delicious recipes that you can try out at home.

Recipe #1

Ingredients
  • 2¼ cups, all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup, unsalted butter
  • 1 cup, granulated sugar
  • ½ cup, sour cream
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons, vanilla
  • ½ teaspoon, baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon, salt
Procedure

In a mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter and add some sugar till they blend well. Add eggs and vanilla and beat the mixture well, for about 5 minutes. Take a separate bowl and combine together the flour, baking soda, and salt. To this bowl, add the butter and sugar mixture alternately, with the sour cream. For baking, line a loaf pan (of about 2 liters) with double-layered parchment paper. Following this, transfer the cake mixture into the pan carefully. Bake the cake in a preheated oven at about 325 ºF, for approximately 1¼ hours, or until the cake is done. Remove the cake from the oven, allow it to cool down and serve.

Recipe #2

Ingredients
  • 3 cups, all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups, partially melted butter
  • 3 cups, sugar
  • 1 packet, sour cream
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon, lemon extract
  • ¼ teaspoon, almond extract
  • ¼ teaspoon, baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon, salt
Procedure

In a mixer beat the butter for about 2 minutes, add sugar and stir it for another 2 minutes. Transfer the mixture into a large mixing bowl, add the eggs to this mixture and stir well. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt together. In the bowl containing the butter mixture, add the flour mixture and sour cream, alternately. Ensure that the last adding is the flour mixture. Add the lemon and almond extracts to the mixture and beat it slightly. Bake the cake in a preheated oven (about 325 ºF) for approximately 1½ hours. Check whether the cake is done by inserting a cake tester. Remove the cake if done and let it cool down before serving.

Ingredients
  • 1¼ cups, finely ground pecan
  • 2 cups, all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup, unsalted butter
  • 3 cups, granulated sugar
  • 1 cup, sour cream
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon, vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon, baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon, salt
Procedure

Preheat the oven to about 325 ºF. Also, grease and flour a tube pan and sprinkle it with ¼ cup of pecan powder. Take a medium-sized bowl and combine the remaining pecan powder, flour, baking soda, and salt. Whisk this mixture and set it aside. In another large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar until it turns fluffy. Add in the eggs and vanilla and stir the mixture. In this large bowl, you can add flour mixture and sour cream alternately. Blend the batter lightly and pour it on the tube pan. Bake the cake for about 1½ hours and cool it by placing it over a wire rack. With this, your delicious cake is ready to serve.
