Singapore Sling Recipe

The Singapore sling drink is a very delectable drink that is made with gin, cointreau, grenadine syrup, pineapple juice and cherry brandy. It has a very balanced flavor and the bitterness of the gin is nicely offset by the sweetness in the pineapple juice and the tartness of the grenadine syrup.

Ingredients
  • 1 ½ ounces gin
  • 4 ounces pineapple juice
  • ¼ ounce Cointreau liqueur
  • ⅓ ounce grenadine
  • ½ ounce Cherry brandy
  • ½ ounce lime juice
  • 1 drop Angostura bitters
  • ¼ ounce Benedictine Dom
Method

Shake all the ingredients together into a cocktail shaker along with a handful of ice cubes. Strain this cocktail into long Collins glasses and serve with a slice of fresh pineapple. You need to use the best brands of gin and cherry brandy to get the flavor of the original drink. Grenadine syrup that is used for making this cocktail is nothing but pomegranate syrup.

It gives the cocktail its vivid pink color as well as imparts a hint of tartness into it. As far as possible stick to this original recipe and use fresh pineapple juice and freshly squeezed lime juice in the recipe. Do not get tempted to vary the measurements for the ingredients or use sub standard ingredients.
