Children can be very choosy when it comes to eating food that is good for their health. They are mostly drawn towards unhealthy food that should not be consumed on a regular basis. This article has a few recipes that are easy to prepare as well as healthy.
Fruit Smoothie
  • 1 cup, plain yogurt
  • ½ cup, strawberries (chopped)
  • ¼ teaspoon, vanilla
  • 2 ice cubes
  • 6-7 raisins
In a blender, blend all ingredients until smooth. Pour in a glass and serve chilled.
Pizza Hotdogs
  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 4 hotdogs
  • 1 jar, pizza sauce
  • 12 slices, mozzarella cheese
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
Split the buns and hotdogs lengthwise. Place the slit buns on a flat plate, and sprinkle mozzarella cheese over them. Place the hot dog on each bun and spread the pizza sauce over it. Add the Parmesan cheese over this layer. Place the hotdogs on a pan and grill until the cheese begins to melt.
Fresh Veggie Pizza
  • 1 ready-made pizza crust
  • 1 cup, sour cream
  • 8 ounces, cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 cups, raw assorted vegetables (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon, dressing mix
Bake the pizza crust in a preheated oven at 350 ºF or until lightly browned and crisp. In a bowl, stir together the cream cheese, sour cream, and dressing mix. Spread this on the crust and top it with mixed vegetables. Bake the pizza again until the vegetables brown very lightly.
Chicken Tossed with Bow Tie Pasta
  • 2 chicken breast fillets (chopped)
  • 1 packet bow tie pasta
  • ¾ cup, chicken stock
  • ½ cup, cream
  • 1 tablespoon, cornstarch
  • ¼ cup, lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon, lemon rind (grated)
  • 1 tablespoon, olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon, soy sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon, sugar
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 4 sprigs, parsley (finely chopped)
This is one of the simplest recipes for dinner. Take a large wok and heat some oil in it. Add the chicken and stir fry it until tender. Remove it from the pan and set aside. In a large pot, boil some water and cook the pasta until tender, yet firm. Mix the chicken stock, cream, sugar, soy sauce, lemon rind, and juice in a small bowl. Add cornstarch and combine it well. In the same pan, toss the minced garlic until it turns brown. Pour the chicken stock and cream mix into the pan. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer. Add the chicken pieces and pasta and mix it well. Garnish with the parsley and serve hot with bread.
