You’ve probably had cornflakes as wholesome breakfast. But those little golden flakes can be used creatively in many other recipes as well.

## Breakfast Recipes with Cornflakes

**Ingredients:** Crushed cornflakes - 1 cup, crushed oats - ¼ cup, plain flour - 1 tbsp, milk - ½ cup, powdered sugar - ¼ cup, cinnamon powder - 1 tsp, fruit salt - 1 tsp, butter  
**Method:** Use water to mix all the ingredients - except the fruit salt - to make the cake batter. Keep aside till the cornflakes and oats are soft. Add the fruit salt and mix together. Grease a hot nonstick pan and use the batter to make pancakes. Cook till golden brown on both sides.

**Ingredients:** Crushed cornflakes - 2 cups, bread cut into thick strips - 4 slices, vanilla extract - ½ tsp, cinnamon powder - ¼ tsp, pinch of nutmeg, unsalted butter - 2 tbsp, large eggs - 2, milk - 2 tbsp, maple syrup  
**Method:** Melt butter in a large hot skillet. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, spices, and vanilla. Dip the bread strips into the spiced egg mixture, roll in the crushed cornflakes, and fry in the butter till golden. Serve hot.

## Cookies and No-Bake Cornflake Treats

**Ingredients:** Cornflakes - 1 cup, APF - 3½ cups, baking soda - 3 tsp, butter -1 cup, light brown sugar and powdered sugar -1 cup each, milk - 1 tbsp, egg - 1, vanilla - 2 tsp, vegetable oil - 1 cup, salt - 1 tsp  
**Method:** Whisk the egg, oil, and milk together. Sift all the dry ingredients together. Cream the sugar and butter together. Mix all the ingredients together, along with the flakes. Scoop spoon-fulls of this dough onto cookie sheets. Bake until golden brown.

**Ingredients:** Cornflakes - 4 cups, roughly chopped chocolate - 200 g, butter - 50 g, golden syrup - 3 tbsp  
**Method:** Melt butter, chocolate, and golden syrup in a saucepan. Pour in the flakes and mix well. Scoop spoon-fulls of this mixture onto a baking sheet, and allow to set overnight.

## Savory and Baked Cornflake Recipes

**Ingredients:** Cornflakes - 1¾ cups, chicken pieces - 3 lbs, egg - 1, milk - 1 cup, flour - 1 cup, melted butter - 3 tbsp, garlic powder - 2 tsp, paprika - 1 tbsp, salt and pepper to taste  
**Method:** Split the spices into two equal parts. Add one part to the cornflakes and the other to the flour. Whisk the egg and milk together. Add the flour, salt, and pepper. Dip the chicken in the batter and then roll it in the cornflakes. Shallow fry or bake in the oven at 350°F for around an hour.

**Ingredients:** Whole grain cornflakes - ¾ cup, APF - 1 tbsp, melted butter - 1½ tbsp, maple syrup - ¼ cup, apple pie spice - ½ tsp, peeled cooking apples - 6 cups  
**Method:** Preheat the oven to 375°F. Mix the flour and spice together. Toss in the apples and quote well. Coat with maple syrup and transfer into a baking dish. Add the cereal to melted butter. Sprinkle over the apples and bake for 35 minutes.

**Ingredients:** Cornflakes - 5 cups, butter - ¼ cup, granulated sugar and brown sugar - ½ cup each, 1 egg separately beaten.  
**Method:** Melt the butter in a saucepan and add in the sugars. Once cooled, stir in the egg. Mix in the cornflakes and pour it in the greased baking sheet. Bake at 350°F until golden brown. Cool and serve.

## A No-Cook Cornflake Snack

**Ingredients:** Cornflakes - ½ cup, Greek yogurt - 2 cups, sliced strawberries - 8  
**Method:** Layer a couple of tablespoons of yogurt, strawberries, and cornflakes. Add some more layers of all the ingredients, and serve.
