Bellini is a popular cocktail that was originally made of fresh peaches. This long drink cocktail originated in the Italian city of Venice. Being a long drink, this cocktail contains alcohol (especially, sparkling wines), which is served in large volumes. Earlier, it was made of fresh peach puree and the Italian wine called Prosecco. Invented by Giuseppe Cipriani (founder of Harry's bar in Venice), the cocktail was named after the famous painter Giovanni Bellini. It is said that the pink color used in one of the paintings inspired Cipriani. As the drink too had a similar color, he named it after the great painter. Later, different versions of Bellini were introduced.
Originally, Bellini was prepared with white peach puree and Prosecco wine. You may either prepare peach puree at home, or else, go for store-bought ones. You may also replace peach puree with peach-flavored liqueurs, like peach schnapps or vodka. However, this will increase the alcohol content of this cocktail considerably. This article will provide you with some raspberry Bellini articles.
