Cobblers, which are prepared with various fillings, are quite popular as desserts. Peach or apple cobblers remain one of the best traditional dishes in the United States as well as the United Kingdom. These recipes vary in different parts of the world in terms of their filling and at times, the entire preparation as well. In America, such cobblers usually have apples, peaches, and cherries as fillings.

There were many secret recipes that were used for preparing this traditional dish. Since peach cobblers are a favorite with everybody, the good news is that this recipe is not a secret anymore. Once baked, this dish will surely be devoured faster than it is prepared. Take a look at some of these easy recipes and try them at home.

Basic Recipe

  • Ripe Peaches, 7 (peeled, pitted, and diced)
  • Cornstarch, 2 tbsp.
  • Butter, 1 cup (melted)
  • Sugar, ½ cup
  • Ginger, 1 tsp.
  • Cake Mix, 18 oz.
Preheat the oven to 350° F and lightly grease a baking pan. Combine sugar, cornstarch, ginger, and peaches in a medium-sized saucepan. Bring these ingredients to a boil. Cook it for about a minute and remove it from heat. Now, pour this preparation into the prepared pan. Take some amount of the cake mix and sprinkle it slightly over the top and add some butter as well. Now, you need to bake this preparation for an hour. Once done, serve it with some vanilla ice cream.

With Vanilla and Cinnamon

  • Butter, 1 stick (melted)
  • Milk, 1 cup
  • Vanilla Extract, 1 tsp.
  • All-purpose Flour, 1 cup
  • Baking Powder, 2 tsp.
  • Salt, ¼ tsp.
  • Granulated Sugar, 1½ cups
  • Ripe Peaches, 4 (peeled, pitted, and thinly sliced)
  • Cinnamon, ½ tsp.
Heat the oven to 375° F. Pour melted butter in a baking dish. Combine 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and flour. Add some salt as well and stir the preparation so that it blends well. Add the milk along with vanilla and stir again to blend. This batter now needs to be poured over the melted butter. Add around ½ tsp. of cinnamon to this. The peach slices need to be arranged over the batter. Now, add ½ cup of sugar over it. Bake this entire preparation for around 30 minutes. Keep a check on the color of the cake. Wait till the top turns a light shade of brown. Once baked, serve it with some whipped topping. A generous scoop of vanilla ice cream can also act as a great topping.

With Eggs and Nutmeg

Ingredients for the batter
  • Butter, ½ cup (melted)
  • Milk, ⅔ cup
  • Egg, 1
  • Baking Powder, 2 tsp.
  • Flour, 1 cup
  • Sugar, 1 cup
  • Salt, ¼ tsp.
Ingredients for the filling
  • Cinnamon, 1 tsp.
  • Nutmeg, ½ tsp.
  • Peach, 28 oz. (drained and sliced)
  • Sugar, 1 cup
Melt some butter in a pan. Mix sugar, baking powder, flour, and salt in a medium-sized bowl. Now, you can add milk and eggs to these ingredients. Pour this batter over the melted butter. Now, you need to combine the peaches, sugar, and spices together and spread this over the batter. Bake this preparation at 350° F for at least 45 minutes. Once baked, serve it warm with a dollop of your favorite ice cream.
