A variety of mint is available in the market, but spearmint and peppermint are the two most commonly used ones. Mint aids stomach and digestive problems, and finds a wide range of applications in human society.
Red Snapper Fillet With Fresh Mint
  • Mint, 2 tbsp. (properly stemmed and chopped)
  • Basil, 2 tbsp. (properly stemmed and chopped)
  • Cilantro, 2 tbsp. (properly stemmed and chopped)
  • Garlic, 1 cup (sliced)
  • Red snapper fillets, 6 (1 pound each)
  • Salt and pepper
  • Extra-virgin olive oil, ½ cup
Slice each red snapper fillet on a cutting board in half lengthwise and leave two fillets attached at the tail. Score the skin and place the red snapper on a parchment lined sheet pan. Put the garlic cloves, mint, basil, and cilantro in a bowl and stir the mixture. Spread this herb mixture on the fillets and drizzle them with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Preheat the oven to 450°F and roast the fillets until the skin becomes crispy, which will take around 10 minutes. Take out the fillets from the oven and serve warm.
Pasta With Fresh Mint
  • Heavy cream, 1½ cup
  • Butter, 4 tbsp.
  • Angel hair pasta, 1 lb.
  • Cayenne, 1 pinch
  • Salt, ½ tbsp.
  • Parmesan cheese, ¼ cup
  • Nutmeg, ½ tsp. (grated)
  • Fresh mint, ⅓ cup (finely chopped)
  • Basil, ⅓ cup (finely chopped)
  • Chives, ⅓ cup (finely chopped)
Combine cream, salt, nutmeg, butter and cayenne in a bowl, and simmer until sauce is slightly reduced and thickened. Whisk in Parmesan and the mixture of fresh herbs, and simmer for another 5 minutes. Put the mixture over hot pasta and serve immediately.
Mint Pesto With Lemon Zest
  • Lemon zest, ½ tsp. (finely grated)
  • Flat-leaf parsley leaves, ¼ cup
  • Mint leaves, ¾ cup
  • Salt
  • Scallions, 2 (thickly sliced)
  • Garlic, 2 cloves
  • Extra-virgin olive oil, 2 tbsp.
Mix the herbs, garlic, parsley, scallions, and lemon zest in a food processor. Add the olive oil slowly to the mixture and process further until it becomes smooth. Season the pesto with salt and serve it with pasta. One can also mix it with soft and fresh goat cheese, and spread it on crostini. Grilled lamb chops, chicken, seafood or vegetables can also be served along with this pesto.
Mint With Chicken Strips
  • Onion, 1 spring (finely chopped)
  • Lemon juice, 2 tbsp. (optional)
  • Chicken fillets, 3 (stripped of all fat)
  • Black pepper, 1 tsp.
  • Fresh mint, 2 to 3 tbsp. (chopped)
  • Greek yogurt, ¾ cup
  • Garlic, 1 clove (crushed)
  • Olive oil, 3 tbsp.

Cook them for 3 to 4 minutes and serve hot.
There are many contemporary variations in the above mentioned recipes, however, the cool burst of minty flavor makes all of them delicious and lip smacking.
