Many people say that coffee is the most refreshing drink, but tea lovers will strongly disagree. A hot brewing cup of tea is what is called a 'kick starter'! Some might argue that a hot cup of tea is not ideal for a hot sunny day, but there many different types of teas available. When the sun is blazing in the sky, all you need is a glassful of chilled iced tea to help you cool down. There are loads of flavors available in iced tea, so you can opt for anyone of your choice. However, the most popular flavor of iced tea is lemon. The tangy cold taste is something people all over the globe crave for!
Simple Recipe
  • ½ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 6 black tea bags
  • 2 large lemons
  • 1¼ cup sugar
Start by removing the yellow peel from the lemons using a vegetable peeler. Do not throw the peels away. Take a medium-sized saucepan and add ½ cup of water to it, along with the lemon peels and sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally until the sugar gets dissolved. Lower the heat when the sugar dissolves, and let it simmer for about 2 minutes. Now, remove from heat and let it cool. When at room temperature, strain the mixture and set it aside. Steep tea bags in about 4 cups of boiling water, cover, and let it boil for 5 minutes. After that, stir in the sugar syrup, 4 cups of water, lemon juice, and lots of ice cubes. Serve in tall glasses and garnish with a lemon ridge.
Blueberry and Lemon Iced Tea
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ½ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 3 family-size tea bags
  • 1 (16-oz.) package frozen blueberries
  • 4 cups water
Take a medium-sized saucepan, add lemon juice and blueberries to it, bring it to a boil over medium heat, and let it cook while stirring occasionally for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and strain into a bowl. Use the back of a spoon to squeeze out the blueberry juice completely. Clean the saucepan with a cloth and then boil 4 cups of water in it. Add in the tea bags and let it boil for 5 minutes. After that, discard the tea bags, and stir in the blueberry juice and sugar in it. Let it cool, and then serve it with ice cubes.
Almond Lemon Iced Tea
  • 3 lemon's juice
  • 1½ tsp pure almond extract
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 9 tea bags
  • 8 cups cold water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
For this sweet iced tea recipe, take a small-sized saucepan and boil 2 cups of water in it. As the water starts boiling, add the tea bags, cover, and remove it from heat. Let the tea bags steep for about 10 minutes, and after that remove them without squeezing. Now, discard the bags. Pour the tea into a 4-pint (2-liter) heatproof container, add in sugar and stir until it dissolves. Stir in lemon juice along with the lemon and almond extract. Add in the remaining 6 cups of cold water and shake well. Serve it chilled with ice cubes.
