Streusel Topping Recipe
Well now that we've got you all curious, we might as well tell you that you'll be receiving two recipes of streusel toppings that you can use to sprinkle on your cakes, pastries, doughnuts, etc. Let's see the first one then, shall we?
Traditional Streusel Recipe
For making a traditional streusel topping, you'll require all the ingredients that you use to make a cake/muffin/pastry and the following ones. For the purpose of this article, we're assuming that you're well aware of the ingredients that you need for a cake, so we're diving straight to the recipe.
You Will Need
  • Baking Powder ~ ¼ tsp
  • Butter ~ cooled, melted ~ 8 tbsp
  • Brown Sugar ~ 4 tbsp
  • Cinnamon ~ 2 tbsp
  • Flour ~ ½ cup
  • Salt ~ ¼ tsp
How You Make It
  • Begin putting together your cake batter with all the necessary ingredients.
  • Now, when the batter is completely ready, what you need to do is, take all the ingredients that have been mentioned above in a mixing bowl and mix them thoroughly.
  • You may also consider mixing them in a food processor if you have one.
  • Once the mixture has reached the desired consistency (read crumbly), you have to keep it aside while you spread your cake batter into the pan/tray that you use for baking.
  • When you're done spreading the batter, take the bowl with the streusel and sprinkle generous amounts onto the batter.
  • Ensure that it is evenly sprinkled. Else some parts will have excess streusel and the others won't have any!
  • Now, place the tray in the preheated oven (according to what kind of cake you will be baking) and let it bake for the required amount of time.
  • To check if the cake is ready or not, poke it with a toothpick and if it comes out clean, the cake is ready to be removed, cooled a bit and eaten!
  • Your delicious cake with its even more delicious streusel topping is ready to be devoured by hungry mouths!
