Easy French Fries Recipe
You need enough russet potatoes as per the number of servings. You may require two potatoes per person. It is your discretion to remove the peels or keep them, while frying. Rinse the potatoes and cut into thin strips. Cook these strips in boiling water, till they get tender. It will take around seven to eight minutes. Transfer the potato strips to a colander and wait till the water drains completely. After that, spread them on a tray lined with paper towels.
As the potato strips get dry, heat vegetable oil in a skillet and fry them in small batches, over high heat. Make sure that you are not overcrowding the skillet. Remove your fries from the oil, as they get crispy and golden brown in color. Now you can sprinkle seasoning over these strips. Toss and serve your homemade French fries.

If you are ready for a slightly complicated procedure, then, this method may work wonders. As per this method, all you have to do is to cut potatoes into thin strips of around ¼-inch thickness. The next step is to cook them in boiling water mixed with vinegar. If you take one kilogram of potatoes, you need two quarts of water mixed with two tablespoons of distilled white vinegar. Add two tablespoons of salt to this mixture and place the pan over high heat. Bring the water (along with potato strips) to boil and let the potatoes cook for around eight to ten minutes. But, make sure that the potato strips are not overcooked.
Once done, remove them from water and spread on paper towels. As the potato strips get dry, fry them in small batches. Heat oil to 400°F and fry the potatoes for fifty seconds. Remove them and spread on paper towels. Let them cool, before frying them further. It will be better to freeze them for at least two hours, before frying them for the second time. You may freeze these potato strips for two months. All you have to do is to fry them, as and when you want to serve French fries. In order to fry them for the second time, you have to heat the oil to 400°F and fry them in small batches, for around three to four minutes. Slightly lower the heat while frying and increase it when you add the new batch. Now you know how to make crispy French fries at home.
