Pudding with Vanilla Wafers
  • Bananas (ripe), 4
  • Milk, 2 cups
  • Egg yolks, 4
  • Sugar, 1 cup
  • All-purpose flour, ½ cup
  • Vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon
  • Salt, a pinch
  • Butter, 1 tablespoon
  • Vanilla wafers
  • Egg whites, 4
  • Sugar, 4 tablespoons
  • Vanilla extract, ½ teaspoon
  • Cream of tartar, ¼ teaspoon
  • Start by preheating the oven to 375°F.
  • Take a baking dish and add a layer to vanilla wafers.
  • Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl, and keep it aside.
  • Beat the egg yolks in a heavy-bottomed saucepan.
  • Combine the egg yolks and the flour mixture, and cook them on a medium flame.
  • Now, add milk and vanilla extract to it. Stir it well.
  • When the mixture starts boiling and starts becoming thick, add butter and keep stirring.
  • Remove it from the flame, once you get the desired pudding consistency.
  • Peel the ripe bananas into round pieces, and add a layer of these banana slices on top of the vanilla wafers.
  • Add half of the pudding on top of the wafers and banana slices.
  • Top it with a layer of vanilla wafers again, then add another layer of bananas and cover with the rest of the pudding.
  • As for the meringue, beat the egg whites till they form soft peaks and add cream of tartar and sugar and beat for some more time. Then fold vanilla into it.
  • Spread this over the pudding.
  • Put it in the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes. Your banana pudding is ready!
Creamy Pudding
  • Bananas (ripe), 4
  • Vanilla wafer cookies
  • Condensed milk, 1 can
  • Cold water
  • Whipped cream
  • Vanilla wafers
  • Vanilla pudding
  • Sweetened condensed milk
  • French vanilla pudding mix
  • Chocolate shavings
  • In a large bowl, pour condensed milk and a cup of cold water.
  • Add the French vanilla pudding mix to it and beat it for a couple of minutes using the electric beater.
  • Refrigerate this mixture for 20 minutes.
  • Once you remove the mixture from the refrigerator, add whipped cream to it.
  • Put half a cup of this mixture to a bowl. Add to this one-thirds of vanilla wafers and then add a layer of one-thirds of the banana pieces.
  • Repeat the same procedure with the rest of the banana slices and vanilla wafers.
  • Refrigerate for 3 hours and sprinkle chocolate shavings on it before serving.
Creamy Cheese Pudding
  • Bananas, 6
  • Vanilla wafers
  • Cream cheese, 1 carton
  • Sweetened condensed milk, 1 can
  • Milk, 2 cups
  • Instant vanilla pudding
  • Cool whip
  • Vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon
  • Beat together cream cheese and condensed milk using an electric beater in a bowl.
  • In another bowl, add milk, vanilla pudding, and vanilla extract. Mix it well.
  • Add cream cheese mixture to it, and mix so that all the ingredients blend well.
  • Add cool whip. Also, add a layer of vanilla wafers, and top it with a layer of banana pieces.
  • Repeat this layering procedure with the rest of the mixture, banana, and wafers.
  • Refrigerate the banana pudding for a couple of hours. Serve chilled and garnish with chocolate shavings.
Pudding Without a Mix
  • Bananas (ripe), 4
  • Egg yolks, 3
  • Cornstarch, 3 tablespoons
  • Salt, ½ teaspoon
  • Milk, 3 cups
  • Butter, 1 tablespoon
  • Vanilla, 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar, ¾ cup
  • In a saucepan, add sugar, cornstarch, salt, and milk. Keep stirring so that the cornstarch doesn't form clumps, and you get a smooth consistency.
  • Cook this mixture over a medium flame till it begins to boil and starts thickening. Remove it from the flame.
  • Now, take a bowl and beat the eggs using a whisk.
  • Stir the cornstarch mixture gradually. Don't put it all together.
  • Once you have added half of the mixture into the beaten eggs, pour all the contents into the saucepan and keep stirring.
  • Turn on the flame and keep stirring till the mixture begins to boil.
  • Once it comes to a boil, remove it from flame and add vanilla and melted butter.
  • Let it cool. Add the sliced bananas. Top it with whipped cream and sprinkle chocolate shavings on it.
