How to Cook Spaghetti Squash in Oven
You will need
  • 1 spaghetti squash
  • Kitchen fork
  • Scoop
  • Knife
Procedure

To cook preheat the oven to 350°F for an hour. Now, using a vegetable brush scrub the squash. Wash and dry it completely and cut it into equal halves, length-wise. Scoop out the seeds and string bits using a spoon. Now place the two halves of squash in a jellyroll pan. Make sure you place them face down. Also pour one cup water in the jellyroll pan. Now place this pan in oven. You need to cook it for one hour. Also keep checking whether there is water in the bottom of the pan. After an hour, take a fork and check whether the squash is cooked. If it penetrates easily its cooked, you can remove it from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes. If it is still hard cook it for 10-20 minutes. Now scoop the fibrous strings from the center of this perfectly cooked spaghetti squash. Now using the fork scrape the inner side of this cooked squash to have string-like flesh. How to Cook Spaghetti Squash in Microwave
You will need
  • 1 spaghetti squash
  • Kitchen fork
  • Spoon

Procedure

Wash the squash under running water and brush it using a vegetable brush scrub the squash. Wash and dry it completely. Now cut into two equal halves, length-wise. Scrape the seeds and stringy bits inside in center of the squash with a spoon. Now place the two halves of squash in a microwave safe dish. Place the cut side down. Now cover the dish with a plastic wrap, leave steam vent. Now cook the squash on high. Cook for about 8-10 minutes. If there is no facility of an automatic turntable in your microwave, you must turn the dish every 3 minutes. This will help even cooking of the squash. Now you can remove the dish and the plastic wrap using a pair of tongs. The built up steam might come over your hands so be extra careful. After flipping the squash, get ready to have the spaghetti strands. Scrape the inside of squash using a fork to get spaghetti strands. Take it in a serving dish and decorate using your favorite spaghetti sauce.
