- ½ kg shrimp
- 1 tomato, finely chopped
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 teaspoons Kashmiri chili powder

- 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
- 1 ginger piece

Buy the shrimp from your local supermarket, de-veined and peeled. Wash and clean the shrimp and set it aside. Blend onions, green chilies, ginger, and garlic (you can also use garlic flakes) together, and make it into a smooth paste. Take a pan and heat oil in it. Put cumin seeds in it and once it starts to pop, mix in the onion paste. Fry it till it turns golden brown and starts to release a bit of water from it. Add the tomatoes (you can also make a paste) and cook for another 2 - 3 minutes.
Now add all the dry ingredients; turmeric powder, Kashmiri chili powder, salt, and Indian garam masala. Mix it properly and then add the shrimp. Add some water to it so that the shrimp won't stick to the pan. Now if you're wondering how long does it take to cook shrimp, then the answer is 5 -1 0 minutes. Once the shrimp is ready, take it out in a serving bowl and garnish it with cilantro leaves. Your Indian shrimp curry is ready. Serve it with some boiled rice.
