Ground Turkey Meatloaf Recipes

You must have tried the traditional beef, pork, or lamb meatloaf recipes. Try these delicious ground turkey meatloaf recipes and bring a refreshing change to the dining table.
Meatloaf, a popular dish all over the world, is prepared from ground meat and cereal grains or other binders. It is no doubt one of the most delicious dishes which is cooked with easily available food ingredients.
Though the preparation tips are mostly the same, the ingredients and ways of serving meatloaf vary from one region to the other. Traditionally used ground beef and lamb can be replaced with ground turkey while preparing this savory dish.

Ground Turkey Meatloaf

  • 1½ pounds ground turkey
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg (beaten lightly)
  • 1½ cups onion (chopped)
  • ⅓ cup fresh parsley (finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon ground garlic
  • ⅓ cup ketchup
  • ½ cup low fat yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
▸ Preheat the oven to 400 °F. In a nonstick frypan, heat the oil, and fry the onion and garlic in it for about 2 minutes or until the onion turns soft.
▸ Take a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the fried onion garlic mixture, parsley, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper to it, and mix them properly.
Add the breadcrumbs, egg and yogurt. Stir the mixture and let it stand for about 5-8 minutes.
▸ Add the ground turkey and mix well. Transfer the turkey mixture to a lightly oiled meatloaf baking pan.
▸ Spread the mixture evenly in the pan and bake for about 55-60 minutes.
▸ Remove the baked meatloaf, slice it, and serve warm with sauce and cheese toppings.

Ground Turkey Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes

  • 1½ pounds lean ground turkey
  • 2 pounds red potatoes (quartered)
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg (slightly beaten)
  • 1 medium-sized onion (chopped)
  • 3 cups fresh spinach leaves (chopped)
  • 1 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
▸ Preheat the oven to 375 °F. Combine the turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, spinach, parsley, mustard, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
▸ After thoroughly mixing the ingredients, transfer the mixture to a baking sheet and spread it evenly in the shape of a loaf.
▸ Pour the ketchup over the loaf, and bake for about 50-55 minutes till it is cooked.
▸ In the meantime, boil the potatoes in water. Simmer for sometime till the potatoes turn tender.
▸ You can check whether the potatoes are cooked or not by inserting a fork.
▸ Drain the cooking water and transfer the cooked potatoes to a bowl.
▸ Allow them to cool down and then mash them with the buttermilk, about ½ teaspoon of salt (or as per your taste), and olive oil.
▸ Remove the baked meatloaf from the oven and serve it with mashed potatoes and barbecue sauce.
