How to Make this Sandwich
This sandwich can be made using many methods. Some of the common ones include using a griddle, a toaster, or a frying pan. You need to grill both sides carefully, until the bread starts to turn to golden-brown in color. Typically, American cheese is considered to be the best one to use, but you can also opt for Cheddar, Brie, Gruyère, Manchego, or Blue cheese.
  • White or brown bread - 2 slices
  • Salted or unsalted butter - 2 tablespoons
  • Cheese slices - 2
Apply butter to one side of each bread slice. Place the cheese slices on the buttered side of one bread slice. Place the other bread slice on top of the cheese, in such a way that the buttered side touches the cheese. Now, preheat a pan on medium heat, and put the remaining butter on it. Once this butter melts, place the sandwich on it. Flip it to the other side after 2 to 3 minutes. You will see that the flipped side has turned golden-brown in color. Keep the other side on the pan for about a minute, and remove the sandwich from the pan with help of a spatula.
Cut the sandwich into two equal pieces with the help of a large kitchen knife. Serve it with tomato sauce, fresh vegetables, or any other add-on of your choice. Once you learn the basic preparation technique, you can try some interesting variations. For instance, you can add slices of different vegetables, beef or pork patties, ham or bacon, and tuna or other fish slices as well.
