Delightfully Easy Frosting Recipes from Mom's Kitchen

No birthday cake is complete with frosting. Given in this article are 6 recipes that are just too yummy and easy to prepare.

When we think of making cakes, the part that excites us the most are the ever-so-tempting cake decoration, be it frosting, icing, or the marshmallow toppings. Frosting is the icing spread uniformly on the cake to impart flavor, seal all the crumbs within, and to make the surface smooth.
Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting
  • Cream cheese, 1 packet
  • Butter, 4 tbsp.
  • Lemon zest, 1 tbsp.
  • Sugar, 1 cup
  • Beat butter and cream cheese in a large bowl using a blender.
  • Add sugar and lemon zest and beat again.
  • Your frosting is ready and you can use it on cupcakes and cookies.
Without Powdered Sugar: Rapper's Frosting
  • Chocolate bar, 1
  • Butter, 3 tbsp.
  • Milk, ½ cup
  • Boil the chocolate bar, milk, and butter in a saucepan. Make sure all the ingredients mix properly and the mixture is uniform.
  • Turn off the burner and let the mixture cool down.
  • Refrigerate this in a bowl.
  • Later, add some more milk and whip vigorously so that the frost is created.
  • Your mouth-watering recipe is ready.
Butterscotch Nut Frosting
  • Light brown sugar, 1 cup
  • Granulated sugar, ⅓ cup
  • Hot water
  • Cream of tartar, ⅛ tsp.
  • Vanilla extract, ½ tsp.
  • Chopped nuts, 1 cup
  • Egg white, 1
  • In a saucepan, add sugar and water and heat until the sugar melts completely.
  • Then add egg white, tartar cream and beat using a blender until the icing consistency is attained.
  • Later add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  • Your recipe is ready. Now serve it onto the cakes.
Chocolate Fluff Frosting
  • Chocolate fudge pudding mix, 1 packet
  • Milk, 2 cups
  • Butter, 1 tbsp.
  • Vanilla, 1 tsp.
  • Whipped cream topping mix
  • Cold milk, ½ cup
  • Take the pudding mix in a pan. Add milk and cook as per the instructions given on the pack.
  • Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla and refrigerate.
  • Now make a mixture of whipped cream topping mix and vanilla with addition of half cup milk and add it to the chilled pudding prepared.
  • Blend the 2 mixtures properly and use as frosting or icing.
Coconut Frosting
  • Sugar, 1 cup
  • Cream of tartar or white corn syrup, 1 tbsp.
  • Egg whites, 3
  • Vanilla extract, 1 tbsp.
  • Salt, 1 pinch
  • Coconut extract, 1 tbsp.
  • Coconut water, ½ cup
  • Grated coconut.
  • Add sugar, cream of tartar, salt, coconut water, and egg whites in a bowl, and boil water on a high flame simultaneously in a saucepan. Place the bowl over the saucepan and blend the mixture properly for 6 minutes with the help of a blender.
  • After removing from flame, mix vanilla and coconut extract in it and again beat constantly for 1 minute with the help of a blender.
  • Allow the frosting to cool down and use it for frosting your cake.
  • Sprinkle grated coconut after each layering of the frost.
Caramel Frosting
  • Dark brown sugar, 1 cup
  • Butter, 6 tbsp.
  • Milk, ½ cup
  • Salt, 1 pinch
  • Sugar, ¼ cup
  • Vanilla extract, ½ tbsp.
  • Take brown sugar, butter, milk and salt in a saucepan and boil it.
  • Take it off the flame and let it cool down.
  • Add sugar and vanilla extract and beat until the consistency is thick enough.
  • Now add it onto your cupcakes or frost it on your cake.
Frosting should be done with delicate hands always, otherwise it can spoil the entire cake. After the cake has been baked, cut it into horizontal layers and frost each layer using frosting.
