Your day begins at 6 in the morning and ends at 10 in the night. Relentless classes, assignments, projects and studies take up your time. A quick bite at the nearest canteen within the university premises is your only source of energy. You are back in your dorm and hungry for some homemade food, or at the least something filling. Too tired to cook, you pass the night on a few munchies. The next day, the same schedule repeats. College is barely leaving you any time to eat healthy meals and so to solve your problem, here are a few easy dinner recipes for college students.
Baked Macaroni and Cheese
Baked macaroni and cheese is the ultimate beginner's dinner recipe. In a baking container, put a layer of boiled macaroni and grate a layer of cheese. Pour some white sauce over it and buttered crumbs of bread. Bake until the crumbs and cheese are brown. This can easily be done in a microwave oven. Eat it hot, while the cheese is bubbling.
Who said you could have pancakes only for breakfast? Don't bother yourself with eggs, flour, and milk. Just buy a ready-made mix and pour it in a pan to have warm pancakes within minutes, with the syrup of your choice. So, dinner ideas for college students are finally seeming better than rocket science?
Sandwich and Drink
Grab some baguettes (they are really cheap and have a longer shelf life too) and a nice chunk of cheese that you like. Slice the baguettes and the cheese, to make sandwiches and have it with a juice of your choice.
This is my favorite. Take as many eggs as you want. Pour a teaspoon of oil in a skillet, break the eggs, add ½ cup of milk, salt, pepper, and herbs if you have any. Toast some slices of bread and you are all set to eat the meal!
Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese
You will need a can of tomato soup, bread, and cheese for making this dish. For making your task easier, use cheese spread. Put two slices of bread on a pan to just slightly warm them up. Once done, spread some cheese on the slices, and make sandwiches. Meanwhile, heat the soup in a microwave oven. Have the soup and the sandwiches together, to get a fuzzy feeling on a chilly winter nights.
To make French toast, you will need 3 eggs and a loaf of bread. Break the eggs and beat them with salt, pepper, and some milk into a frothy mixture. Slice the slices of bread into half or you can keep them whole. Dip the slices in egg batter and fry them in a preheated skillet with 3 tablespoons of oil.
Spaghetti and Cheese with Boiled Chicken
This is one of the easy dinner recipes for beginners who can't live without chicken. Boil 2 cups of spaghetti. Spread it on greased baking dish. Grate about ¼ cup of cheese on top of it and lay it with ½ teaspoon of butter. Add a layer of boiled chicken on top and once again grate it with ¼ cup of cheese. Bake it till the cheese becomes bubbly and brown. Serve the dish hot with some soup.
These dinner recipes will provide you with essential nutrients and the energy that you need to pull through demanding days. Your health is as important as your academics. Eat well and sleep well, to do well. Bon appetit!
