Deviled ham is a delicious dish made from ground ham, spices, and special seasonings. You can enjoy it in different ways, as filling for sandwich, topping for crackers and simply, as a side dip. As with any kind of recipe, there are different methods of preparation. In fact, you can make deviled ham in any way that you can think of. Classic Deviled Ham
  • Baked ham, ½ lb. (cut into ½ inch dice)
  • Sour cream, ¼ cup
  • Mayonnaise, 2 tbsp. (optional)
  • Scallions or green onions, 3 (minced)
  • Dijon mustard, 2 tbsp.
  • Peeled celery ribs, 2 (cut into ¾-inch dice)
  • Minced tarragon, 1½ tsp.
  • Sweet cayenne pepper, ¼ tsp.
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Worcestershire sauce to taste
  • Hot sauce (optional)
First of all, prepare the ham by chopping it finely. You can use a food processor for this purpose. Add chopped ham and scallions in the mixer. Process until blended and keep aside. Now, take a medium-sized bowl and add sour cream, mayonnaise, and Dijon mustard. Following this, combine processed ham, sour cream mixture, celery, tarragon, and cayenne pepper. Sprinkle salt and pepper as per your taste. If desired, add hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well, cover with a lid and refrigerate for several hours before serving.
Deviled Ham Sandwich
  • Bread, 16 slices
  • Deviled ham spread, 2 (4¼ oz.) cans
  • Cream cheese, 4 oz. (softened)
  • Pimiento, 4 tsp. (finely chopped)
  • Relish, 3 tbsp.
  • Onion, 1 tbsp. (minced)
  • Prepared mustard, 1 tsp.
In a mixing bowl, combine together all the ingredients (except bread) - ham spread, cream cheese, pimiento, relish, minced onion, and mustard. Stir well, until the ingredients are blended well. Cover with a lid and keep in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. If time permits, you can refrigerate it for a longer period. Spread about ¼ cup of deviled ham for each sandwich.
Deviled Ham Spread
  • Deviled ham, 1 (4½ oz.) can
  • Hard-boiled eggs, 4 (chopped)
  • Cheddar cheese, ½ cup (shredded)
  • Pimiento, 2 oz. can
  • Green onion, 1 (minced)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Mayonnaise, 1 tbsp.

In a mixing bowl, add ingredients - deviled ham, hard-boiled eggs, Cheddar cheese, pimiento, green onion, and mayonnaise. Mix well, and add salt and pepper. Adjust the seasoning until you get the desired taste. Spread over French bread. Warm in a preheated oven and serve. Deviled ham dip recipe is similar to spread recipe, except that sour cream or a thick agent is used in the former one for making a smooth and creamy paste. You can add Tabasco sauce to suit your taste buds. Refrigerate for few hours before serving. Deviled ham dip is best served with crackers.
