Cupcake ice cream cones makes a perfect dessert for a kids' party. They are very simple to make and children enjoy them a lot.

Cupcake ice cream cones combine two of my most favorite things, an ice cream and a cake. The cones are decorated with frosting, melted chocolate, whipped cream, roasted chopped nuts, and cherries. They are a delicious treat and can be enjoyed by both young kids and adults. They are very easy to make and you can even get your children involved in making these delicious cupcake ice cream cones.
Cupcake Ice Cream Cone Recipe
  • Self-raising flour, 2 cups
  • Sugar, 1 cup
  • Butter, ½ cup (unsalted)
  • Eggs, 3
  • Baking powder, 1 tsp.
  • Vanilla extract, 1 tsp.
  • Milk, ½ cup
  • Salt, ½ tsp.
  • Assorted candy sprinkles
  • Roasted pistachios, ¼ cup (chopped)
  • Cherries, 12
  • Whipping cream, 1 cup
  • Icing sugar, ½ cup
  • Food color (optional)
  • Ice cream cones, 12 (flat bottomed)
In a large bowl, sift the self-raising flour with the baking powder and the salt. In another bowl whisk the eggs, milk, sugar and butter. Pour this mixture in the bowl containing the dry ingredients. Whisk all this together along with a teaspoon of vanilla extract until everything is well blended. Now when your cupcake batter is ready, fill each cone with 2 to 3 tablespoons of this batter. Bake in an oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
Beat the whipping cream until stiff peaks are formed. Add in the icing sugar and whip this mixture until all the sugar has been dissolved. Put half a tablespoon of food coloring if you wish. Fill a pastry bag with this icing and pipe it on top of the cupcake cones. Decorate the ice cream cones with assorted candy sprinkles, chopped roasted pistachios and cherries.

If you want to try making the ice cream cone at home, here is the recipe.
  • Granulated sugar, ½ cup
  • Eggs, 2
  • Flour, ⅓ cup
  • Milk, 5 tbsp.
  • Butter, 5 tbsp.
  • Vanilla extract ½ tbsp.
  • Vegetable oil, 1 tbsp.
Using an electric blender, mix together in a small bowl, the granulated sugar and egg until the mixture is frothy and the sugar is dissolved. Now add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Add the flour and whisk until the batter is smooth in texture. If you find the consistency to be too thick, add some milk to thin it out. Heat a non stick pan and coat the pan with a tablespoon of vegetable oil. With the help of a ladle pour a little bit of the batter in the middle of the pan and immediately rotate the pan so that a thick 4 to 5 inch circle is formed.
Cook the batter until it is set and the sides are golden. Flip the crêpe and cook till both the sides are done. Remove the crêpe from the pan and while it is still hot roll it to form a cone. This batter is sufficient for making around 10 cones.
Easy Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes
  • Packaged dry cake mix, 1 box
  • Cupcake ice cream cones, 12
  • Butter, 1 cup
  • Icing sugar, ½ cup
  • Cream, 5 tbsp.
  • Vanilla extract, ½ tsp.
Prepare the cake mix as directed. Pour 2 to 3 tablespoons of the cake mix in the cones and bake it in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Whisk the butter, icing sugar, vanilla extract, and cream until the mixture is smooth. Spread the frosting over the ice cream cones.
These ice cream cones are very easy to make and you may try out your hand at cake decorating by trying out different types of frosting like chocolate, lemon, coffee, or orange. If you are pressed for time, you can even substitute the cupcakes for store brought muffins and just decorate it with multicolored sprinkles and chocolate shavings.
