Adding cheese is an interesting way to enhance the flavor of your food. It is delicious, easily available, and can be added to various recipes in different ways. Let us look at some recipes on how to use cheddar sauce in different dishes.
Easy Cheddar Cheese Sauce
- 2 cups, sharp cheddar (grated)
- ½ cup, butter
- 1 cup, milk
- 2 tablespoons, flour
- 1 teaspoon, ground black or white pepper
- Salt, to taste
In a medium-sized saucepan, melt the butter. Add the flour, pepper, and salt, to the saucepan; sauté the mixture. Now, add the milk and stir till it attains a smooth consistency. Put the cheese into the pan and let it cook for 5 minutes, till it blends, completely. You can serve this sauce with broccoli, pasta, and other dishes.
Cheddar Cheese Sauce for Macaroni
- 1½ cups, small elbow macaroni
- 2½ cups, sharp cheddar (shredded)
- 2 tablespoons, cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons, margarine or butter
- 1 tablespoon, vegetable oil
- 1 can, evaporated milk
- ½ teaspoon, dry mustard
- 1 cup, water
- 1 teaspoon, freshly ground black pepper
- Salt to taste
Place a saucepan over medium heat and add the cornstarch, mustard, pepper, and salt, to it. Now, put the butter (or margarine), evaporated milk, and water, into the mixture; stir thoroughly. Bring it to a boil. Add 2 cups of the cheese to it and stir till it melts.
Take another saucepan and cook the macaroni according to the package instructions. Drain the water from the saucepan and keep the macaroni in a separate bowl. Pour the oil over the macaroni and toss them using a pair of forks, to avoid them from sticking to each other. Grease a casserole dish and transfer the macaroni to it. Pour the prepared sauce into the dish, and mix well. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the mixture. Bake it in a preheated oven at 375 ºF, for about 25 minutes, till the cheese melts.
Cheddar Cheese Sauce for Nachos
- 2½ cups, cheddar (shredded)
- 1 cup, Monterey Jack cheese (shredded)
- ½ cup, cream cheese (cubed)
- ¼ cup, butter
- ½ cup, evaporated milk
- 1½ tablespoons, paprika
- 1 tablespoon, cornstarch
- ½ tablespoon, hot sauce
- Salt to taste
Take a heavy-bottomed saucepan and melt the butter. Add the cornstarch and evaporated milk to it. Combine the ingredients with the help of a whisk. Add the cubed cream cheese to the mixture, and stir well. Now, put the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese into the pan. Let it cook till the cheese melts, completely. Finally, add the paprika, hot sauce, and salt, to the sauce; stir to combine all the ingredients. Team this cheese sauce with some mouth-watering nachos.
Cheddar Cheese Sauce for Noodles
- 2½ cups, cheddar (grated)
- 1 package, noodles
- ½ cup, butter or margarine
- 1, medium-sized onion (finely chopped)
- ¼ cup, plain flour
- 1 cup, bacon (chopped)
- ½ cup, milk
- ¼ teaspoon, nutmeg
- Salt to taste
In a saucepan, cook the noodles as per the package instructions. Drain the water from the noodles and transfer them to a bowl. Keep it aside. Melt the butter in a saucepan and sauté the onions till they become translucent. Add the bacon to the pan and fry it till it turns brown. Now, add the milk and flour to the mixture and stir till a smooth batter is formed. Once the mixture boils, sprinkle the salt and nutmeg over it.
Then, take a casserole dish and transfer the cooked noodles and cheese to it; mix well. Pour the sauce over the noodles and bake it in a preheated oven at 180 ºC for about 20 minutes, till the cheese melts.
