The word 'chai' is of Hindi origin, meaning tea, whereas latte is a kind of coffee which is made up of hot milk. Chai latte is a term for version of masala chai. Masala chai means spiced tea in Hindi, which contains steamed milk flavored with spiced tea instead of espresso. Chai latte generally does not contain coffee. Talking about the calories, if this latte is made of whole milk then it contains about 10g of fat per 250 ml. But if you use low-fat or skimmed milk, then the calories will be as less as almost 1 - 7 g.
Recipe #1


1 cup milk
1 cup water
¼ cup packed brown sugar
2 tbs refrigerated French vanilla nondairy creamer
1 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground ginger
¼ tsp ground allspice
2 individual tea bags
Whipped topping and ground nutmeg, optional

♨ Put all spices, tea bags, ginger and cinnamon in coffee filter of a drip coffeemaker.
♨ Add water and brew in accordance to the directions of the manufacturer.
♨ While its brewing, take a small saucepan and mix creamer, milk and brown sugar.
♨ Cook over medium heat, stirring, until properly heated and the sugar is dissolved.
♨ Pour milk into mugs and then stir in the tea. Add whipped topping and sprinkle nutmeg.

7 fluid ounces boiling water
1 fluid ounce goat milk
1 tbs white sugar
1 pinch ground cardamom
1 tea bag

♨ All you need to do is take a large mug and put the tea bag in it.
♨ Pour boiling water over it and steep for about 2 - 3 minutes.
♨ Next, stir in sugar and goat milk and garnish with a little bit of cardamom. That's it!

2 cups half and half
2 cups water
¼ cup sugar
1 tsp grated orange peel
½ tsp vanilla extract
¼ tsp ground cardamom
¼ tsp ground ginger
⅛ tsp freshly grated nutmeg
4 heaping tsp of loose leaf black tea
8 whole cloves
4 black peppercorns
2 cinnamon sticks

♨ Boil sugar, spices and water and simmer for about 10 minutes.
♨ Pour it into a tea kettle which has an infuser, or strain later.
♨ Add tea to the infuser and sink it in water for about 3-5 minutes and then add vanilla extract.
♨ Now heat half and half, only to a simmer and then pour it in a blender and blend until frothy. Strain the tea in a heated mug which has been filled with frothed milk, halfway.

1 cup milk
1 cup water
4 tsp white sugar
2 tsp black tea leaves
3 whole cloves
3 whole black peppercorns
1 (3 inch) cinnamon stick
1 pinch ground nutmeg
1 large strip of orange peel

♨ Mix water and milk in a saucepan and heat over medium-high flame.
♨ When warmed, add cloves, peppercorns, orange peel, cinnamon stick, nutmeg, tea leaves, and sugar to the pan.
♨ Bring this mixture to boil. When it boils, reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer. You can simmer until it deepens to your liking.
♨ Strain out the spices and pour into mugs. Consume while it is hot.
