Salt is primarily used to bring out the flavors of food. It is an essential to good cooking, and is used as a prime seasoning in many dishes. Celery salt is a type of salt which is prepared by mixing finely granulated salt with dried celery seeds. These are from a hardy marsh plant called wild celery or Apium graveolens, that belongs to the family Apiaceae. These seeds are light brown in color, have a hay-like aroma, and a strong astringent flavor.
For centuries, these seeds have been known and used for their herbal, medicinal value. It is also used as a spice in different cuisines and is known for its unique flavor. It is also commonly used as an alternative to ordinary salt in various recipes, salads, cocktails, etc. Celery salt can also be used in easy-to-make recipes like baked or mashed potatoes, even simple salads.   • 1 tablespoon, dried celery seeds
  • 2 tablespoons, coarse salt
In a blender, grind the celery seeds. Add salt to it and grind the mixture again, until fine. Your celery salt is now ready. Store it in an airtight container.

  • 1, large green cabbage head (finely shredded)
  • 1, small red cabbage head (finely shredded)
  • 2, tart apples (finely shredded and tossed with lime juice)
  • ½ cup, fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • ¼ cup, soy sauce
  • 1 cup, rice vinegar
  • ½ cup, pickled ginger (finely diced)
  • ½ cup, green onions (thinly sliced)
  • 4 tablespoons, sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon, crushed red pepper
  • 2 teaspoons, ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon, celery salt
In a large bowl, place the shredded cabbages and tart apples. Add the vinegar, cilantro, sesame oil, ground ginger, pickled ginger, soy sauce, crushed red pepper, celery salt, and green onions, to it. Toss the mixture well, with a wooden spoon. When all the ingredients are combined, season it with the celery salt. Cover the lid, and refrigerate it for at least 2 hours. Drain the excess liquid to keep the cabbage crisp.

  • 4 dashes, Tabasco sauce
  • 4 dashes, Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 dashes, pickle juice
  • 2 dashes, olive brine
  • 1 oz. of vodka
  • Celery salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups, tomato juice
Take a cocktail shaker and put all the ingredients in it. Now, fill the shaker with ice. Cover it with the lid and give it a good shake. Pour the drink into martini glasses, and garnish them with olives, a pickle, and a slice of lime.
