Breakfast Strata
You could try this recipe of breakfast strata which serves as the perfect opening dish for a brunch. Have a look at it.
  • 6 slices of French bread, 1/2 inch thick
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 lb smoked sausage
  • 1/2 lb mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon chopped onion
  • 1/2 lb shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  1. Cut the sausage into cubes or small pieces.
  2. Spread the chunks on the French bread.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the eggs. Add milk, mustard, salt, and pepper, and blend well.
  4. Then add the chopped onions and mushrooms, and mix well.
  5. Pour this mixture over the bread with sausages.
  6. Top it with shredded cheese.
  7. Cover it with a plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  8. Next morning add a little more cheese and cream of mushroom soup, and bake at 350°F for about 50 minutes, until it puffs up and sets. Get ready to serve it for brunch and get loads of compliments from your guests.
