  • Soy sauce - ⅓ cup
  • Sugar - 2 tablespoons
  • Ground ginger - 1 teaspoon
  • Dried leaf thyme (crushed) - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic clove (minced) - 1
  • Boneless rump roast - 3 pounds
This is a boneless dish. In a medium-sized bowl combine water, soy sauce, ginger, sugar, thyme, and garlic. After combining these ingredients, pour the mixture into a large seal-able food storage bag. Then, place the rump roast into the bag. Close the bag and turn it so that the rump roast gets covered with the mixture completely. Seal the bag and keep it in the refrigerator for minimum 4 hours or overnight. You can turn the bag occasionally. After 4 hours, remove the rump roast from the bag and keep the marinate mixture back into the refrigerator.
