Baked Chicken Wings So Healthy, You'll Gobble Them Up in a Minute

How to Bake Chicken Wings

If you've never baked chicken wings before, but have quite a large fan club at home, here are some ways to bake it.

Crispy Chicken Wings (Baked)

  • Butter, 2 tablespoons (melted)
  • Cornflakes, 1 cup (crushed)
  • Flour, 1 cup
  • Chicken wings, 8
  • Egg substitute, ¾ cup
  • Salt and Pepper
Apply some melted butter to a baking dish and preheat the oven to 425ºF. In a mixing bowl, add flour, cornflakes, and salt to mix it well. Then dip the chicken in egg substitute and roll it in the cornflake mixture. Keep the chicken in the baking dish and bake it in the oven for 20 minutes.
Now turn the chicken over and bake it again for another 10 minutes till it turns crisp and juicy. Serve it hot with salsa sauce or any other dip.


  • Tomato paste or ketchup, ¼ cup
  • Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar, 1 tablespoon
  • Hot water, 1 cup
  • Hot sauce
In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients and cook it on medium flame till the sauce or dip thickens enough. You can add parsley if you want a different taste and let the dip cook well for about 5 minutes. Once ready, serve it with the crispy chicken wings and some green onion toppings.

Oven-baked Chicken Wings

  • Chicken wings, 12
  • Soy sauce, 3 tbsp.
  • Garlic powder, ½ tsp.
  • Paprika, 1 tsp.
  • Cayenne pepper, 1 tsp.
  • Sugar, 2 tsp.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Preheat the oven to about 425ºF and cover the baking dish with aluminum foil. Drizzle it with some olive oil or melted butter. Wash the wings and cut them into portions discarding the wing tips. In a mixing bowl, mix all the remaining ingredients and stand the mixture for 5 minutes.
Add the wings to coat them with the mixture and place them carefully on the baking dish. Roast them for about 20 minutes in the oven and then turn the wings upside down to roast the other side till they are golden brown and juicy enough. Serve them with a sauce or dip.

Spicy Baked Chicken Wings

  • Garlic cloves, 4 (minced)
  • Green onions, 3 (chopped)
  • Chinese five spice powder, 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce, 2 tablespoons
  • Fish sauce, 2 tablespoons
  • Chili sauce, 2 tablespoons
  • 16 chicken wings
  • Limes, 2
  • Salt to taste
In a saucepan, mix the garlic, onion, five spice powder, fish sauce, soy sauce, chili sauce, and salt in a bowl till it is a fine mixture. Add the wings to the bowl till they are evenly coated with the mixture. Cover the bowl with a plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
Drizzle the baking dish with some melted butter or olive oil and preheat the oven to 425ºF. Place the marinated chicken on the baking dish and bake it for 20 minutes on one side and then turn over to the other for it to get a slightly brown color. Serve it with lime and green onion toppings.
