Appetizers can be called the starter foods for parties or functions. Sweet, sour, or spicy, whatever may be the taste, they are simply loved by everyone of us. They are usually served in such a way that they can be consumed in one single bite. Hence, they are also known as finger foods.
Appetizers are usually served in attractive and decorative manner with the help of toothpicks and other accessories. Finding the right appetizer recipe for your party can be a herculean task, since you have to make a choice from so many available options.
Let us take a look at some recipes for preparing appetizers that can be served in various parties and functions.

Tomato Basil Skewers

  • Basil leaves, 20
  • Cherry tomatoes, 20
  • Mozzarella Balls, 20
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil
This is a very simple recipe that can be prepared within very less time. All you need to do is put in the cherry tomatoes, basil leaves, and the mozzarella balls into the skewers and then sprinkle some salt, pepper, and oil over them. This recipe will give you a healthy, low fat, and low carb starter food.

Cranberry Chicken Topper

  • Green onions, 2
  • Dried cranberries, ¼ cup
  • Honey mustard, 1 tablespoon
  • Bacon bits, 1 tablespoon
  • Creamy Caesar dressing, 3 tablespoons
  • Romaine lettuce leaves, 2
  • Rosemary and olive oil cracker, 36
  • Chicken breast (cooked and chopped), 1 cup
Finely chop the onions and lettuce leaves. Add all the ingredients in a bowl, except the lettuce leaves and crackers. Refrigerate this mixture for at least one hour. Then, add the lettuce leaves and the mixture over the crackers and serve.

Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs

  • Eggs, 10
  • Mayonnaise, 1 cup
  • Bacon (sliced), 4
  • Cheddar cheese (finely shredded), 2 tablespoons
  • Mustard, 1 tablespoon
This recipe is time-consuming but the combination of egg and bacon is just yummy. First, place the eggs in boiled water for 10-15 mins. Then, remove them and place them under the running water. Cook the bacon in a skillet till it turns brown in color. You can also cook it in the microwave by wrapping the slices in paper towels for 1 min per slice.
Now, remove the hard part of the eggs and cut them into half through the length. Scoop out the egg yolks and place them into a separate bowl. Mash these yolks, and mix them well with the mayonnaise, cheddar cheese, mustard, and cooked bacon slices. Fill the empty spaces of egg halves with this mixture, refrigerate for a while, and serve.

Lemon Cheese Ball

  • Butter, 1 cup
  • Confectioner's sugar, 1 cup
  • Lemonade mix (powdered), 1 tablespoon
  • Graham crackers crumbs, ¼ cups
  • Cream cheese (softened), 8 ounces
Add the cream cheese, butter, confectioner's sugar, and lemonade mix to a medium-sized bowl, and blend the mixture with an electric mixture. Refrigerate it for 3 hours. Once the mixture is refrigerated completely, shape the mixture into small balls, and roll them over crumbs of graham crackers. Serve them over crackers of your choice.
